The weekend past

We spent a very agreable weekend..Sunday morning church..Dik spoke about Pentecost (I was doing the littles, trying to explain pentecost to them)
Then lunch was with some friends who live out in the country side, about 35mins drive from Cenon. It's something they do every year with friends & family..

There were about 45 or so folks, including some families from church, & both Pierre & Sophie's family..They cooked a HUGE paella..one for the kids (no sea monsters) & another for the adults (sea monsters) They were cooked on an outside fire! An apero before hand, so we didn't eat the paella til about 3pm I think..then after the main, there was the dessert..& coffee

They had put a long table under the shade of two trees, some tables & chairs scattered around as well..The garden was like a mini park/forest..the kids were off in the distance playing on the swings, or ping pong..

It was like being in the middle of a french film set, or a Renoir! It was so delightful!

Sunday evening Alan preached on Pentecost..one person asked 'so what is Pentecost'

Fantastic to think that the church started originally with 12, then 120 then about 3,000 added to their number in one day! Look at it today! Amazing!
I recommend reading Acts in one sitting!

Yesterday, being bank holiday (Pentecost) there was no school, no work..Our neighbour invited us & the Griffin bunch for a BBQ..It was a super day, she had the paddling pool out for the kids, and canopies to shade from the sun! & we got to meet her petit copan..he's very nice!

So we spent the day eating & talking! 'S ok for some eh!

This evening we have a friend coming for tea..she has been coming to the International church, and is here in Bordeaux singing opera..so we hope to go & see that when she starts..it's rehearsals at the moment.

The student work is winding down for the summer..exams almost over, & off back home for some. We still continue our ladies meeting here on Thurs, where we're looking at the Beatitudes..this week we hope that another visitor to the International church will be coming along..
