Well that's it, England out of the world cup, but France still in!!
We were round a friends house this evening, naturally the tv was on so we saw the goal , and what a good one too!!
It seemed as if the whole of Bordeaux was watching it.
On our way home, car horns were honking (they still are and it's past midnight) and an air of general camaraderie is in the air! It's been such fun.
As we got into our drive way the neighbor was sitting in her garden and shouted out some comment; so we went over, and got invited in for coffee!! Which is just great. It was lovely to meet and sit and chat and she had several friends there too, so it was another chance to speak the French!!
Alan is still there, I came home as the children are virtually asleep on there feet!
Gwilym was at a party this afternoon, and chats away in French like a native!

Yes Pat, the sounding of car horns on joyous occasions is somewhat commonplace in France and other countries, especially as one goes further east. Number 1 Daughter always said that she wanted to get married in France because of the way that everyone associated with a wedding went all throught the streets with horns blaring. And she did get married in France too, though not for that reason. However, she did get her 'horn chorus' none-the-less, and it was a long way between the church and the reception!
