Cos our screen in the main room downstairs, gave up the ghost yesterday evening, in the middle of me blogging. It was probably so boring it gave up all hope!
Anyway, we have some lovely friends from Deeside staying here for a week.
It's so good to see them. The weather started out great for them, when they arrived!
But by the afternoon we were all sweltering, and found it a bit too much to go out, so after a very brief walk, we came back in to the cool of the house. Thank goodnness for shutters!
Today they have ventured in to Bordeaux centre with Gwilym as their guide, and every so often the rains pour down and the thunder rumbles, but they are very gung ho, and haven't returned!
The two Griffin lads started at school today!! Luke the youngest of the two has been vomiting in the class room, poor lad, so he probably won't be going back this afternoon! He apparently woke up at 5am and did the same at home.
Ben & Liz are just super, very brave, and just go for it in the language. Ben is waving to the local butcher, they seem to be great pals already! Liz was on the phone yesterday talking to the lady who was sorting out the children's school....
(Ben has got his "little" test on 10 September! The DEFLE have over subscribed with students, so if they had not got record of Ben in their files, he would not have got in, but thankfully they did. I think they are a bit relieved that Liz isn't going cos of the numbers.)
The group for foriegn ladies starts mid september, so it may be that Liz can come to that
There is so much to be said for being local, and for not having a car! A bit of a pain for them, but it seems to be reaping good things for the time being ie getting to go to the local butcher and such..but they hope to be getting a car at the weekend..A church friend who is going abroad to work for two years is seling her car! very providential!
Ben is now off to buy the necessary equipment for them!
Catrin started back to day, and has the bad news that they have to go in this Saturday morning as well!!
She is with a different set of girls this year. Her year is split in to two groups like last year.
Two of the girls that she had been friends with and then wasn't( life is very coplicated when you're a girl!!) are in the other class, so that may be a good thing!
Hopefully she'll get on well with the girls in her class this year. She has two new teachers as well, one does Mon and Tues, the other does Thurs & Fri.
