Open all hours

Who is open all hours? God of course!

"Be my rock of refuge
to which I can always go" psalm 71

We finished going through Romans at the International service & came across these words of  Paul v 25" Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel..."
Some one mentioned about losing their salvation, & it made me think. God has established us in the faith, God will keep us firm to the end..but we have to persevere..Like Paul says, no one gets the prize if they give up half way! You want to get that medal at the end of the race, then you've got to run like mad, & not give up! Keep going..100% God 100% us

So what is this perseverance..I thought about this on the way home in the car & again this morning..one thing I think it is, is the way we behave under pressure..where do we go when we're fed up, going through a hard time, life sucks, or we're looking for something more in our lives?
Well, surely the psalm here tells us that there is someone who is always there, always ready to listen & help us..what help can the world give? Yes, it is exciting it is wonderful, but it's fleeting..it doesn't last,  we have lovely friends who help us when we're down in the dumps ; we need them, in fact it's God who gives us friends in time of need!, but ultimately it is God alone who is our refuge & give us the strength to persevere...we are not alone! the Holy Spirit lives in us to help us to keep going

Mean while the weather is grotty! It rained everyday last week, & it's gonna rain everyday this week too! School holidays! But we really need the rain, & the plants are saying thankyou..the guinea pigs were a bit waterlogged last week, we had to move them to higher ground! we'll be issuing them with wellies, rain coats & yet another boat!

Gwilym has gone off to visit a friend for the week, back on Friday. Catrin has some homework to do but we hope to go out & do some girlie things..she's contacted friends but they haven't come up trumps..some are away. I contacted someone with kids from church, to see if we can all go bowling one day..me to watch I hasten to add, on reflection I think bowling is not a good idea for one with a back like mine!
