This afternoon I spent talking with Harriette about the kids club we want to hold once or twice a month on a Wednesday afternoon; Primary school children have Weds off..so we had thought of having a club, to follow on from the clubs we had in the holidays earlier in the year.,

One of the problems is lack of folks to help..most work, or live far out..We're hoping to involve some students who have just arrived in France..& hoping that this might motivate those who don't work to lend a hand too..

We talked about the aims of the club..To get to know the local kids, to be a Christian witness, to have a place where they can feel safe & have fun, to include some sort of Christian teaching, but this carefully & not bombard them & scare them off..We want to get to know the kids in a world that is always so busy with school & not a lot of time to have fun.

We talked about a theme..I suggested Change as we're coming in to Autumn now, & the leaves on the trees are changing colour, the weather is changing, & to link this in to how we change from a baby to an adult..then to link this again in to a bible story..perhaps Saul/Paul & the change that happened to him when he heard the gospel?? Not quite sure about that yet. Then there's the craft ideas, Harriette thought about nature..the leaves..we could do leaf prints or stick prints or something. Anyway this was the first meeting & I have one or two folks to talk to & we meet up again next Monday..
