The last two days have been spent putting up posters & leaving flyers in various shops throughout Bordeaux advertising the meetings taking place from 1-6september..The first being an expo on the Bible..how it came into our own languages etc, another being a discussion on what it means to be good.
We went in to Bars & cafés & even tried the odd immobilier or two, & pharmacies.
One lady seemed she might agree to a poster, but when she saw the content, she told us that no immobilier or bank would advertise anything that wasn't to do with their business (we had just come from a bank who had happily let us leave some fliers around!) Still we got to meet a guy who was going to be studying English this year, so we were able to leave him a fac prospectus telling him of all the meetings taking place including the English classes.
It was really hot..Thurs we went around the campus..didn't find many buildings open yet, but went into phone boxes & sellotaped flyers to the glass.
I left after a while cos it was boiling & the thought of wandering around the campus
in the dessert like heat was a bit too much for me! So I came home & left Liz & Fiona bravely continuing!
Today the Daveys & Liz went to the Dune de Pyla..climbed to the top & ran down the other side! Then off to a nice beach for a swim in the sea..only the sea wasn't there! The tide was well & truly out!!!!Poor Liz had so been looking forward to getting wet!
Tonight we're off to a restaurant for a farewell meal for Liz & Donerse, althought Donerse won't be there...she had to go to Paris suddenly yesterday afternoon, to sort out her passport before she goes to Spain..tomorrow!!
