Home at last!

Only 3 days late! After having a wonderful time with church friends in Deeside, we made our way to the ferry...we hadn't used the car once it was mended just in case.....

About 2hrs away from Dover..Dartford infact, guess what...the clutch cable went. So Alan was on the phone, but this time no Griffin's to come to our aid.
We got taken to a garage..after waiting on the side of the M25 for about an hours in the sun.
Sat waiting to see what the garagiste would do..a cable was sent for but we already knew it would be the wrong one, being that we have a foreign car!

So we were put up in a hotel, paid for by the insurance, to wait for the following day when 'the cable will arrive' However it didn't so we waited a bit more! We were comfortable, we were safe & well looked after. Breakfast was included in the insurance, tho eveing meal wasn't..We managed to find a chippie not far away (the hotel main meals started at about 14pounds each!!)
The insurance would give us another fiver each for the main evening meal! So we did get a couple of pizza's (9pounds each)

Anyway..we finally got the car yesterday morning & set off for the ferry..we were booked on the 17h one, but as we got there earlier we were transferred to the 1pm which was better.

Armed with two cans of energy drink, Alan drove us home, with two stops and we arrived about 1am thismorning!!

So, reflections:The kids had a great week in Tywyn CCIW camp, we had a wonderful time in Deeside staying with friends, being invited out for meals, getting to re-know our Church family which was a real benifit to us & I think to them..in the past, we have whizzed in & whizzed out again..this time we got to visit a lady who is terminally ill, & we will probably not see her again on this earth, & several other elderly/poorly folks that we haven't seen for a long time.

God has his ways, & His ways are perfect.

The delay on the way down,on reflection was again good in that, we were worried that we would find it hard to settle again here as we'd so loved being with the Deesiders..but by the end of it, we just wanted to get home!
