busy weekend

Just had a great weekend! Started Saturday morning with the guys of the church going along to the new building to knock down more walls...great for building relationships between the chaps I think...Me, feeling a bit under the weather, stayed at home & slept the morning away. Catrin went to the church & helped our friend Jenna to decorate it for Christmas..very tastefully done too I must say.

Sufficiently recovered to go to the Anglican carol service to sing in the choir. Magnum Mysterium, O Jeus so sweet, Balolalow, Quittez Pasteur & I saw three Ships...

Alan gave the message..Christ is for life not just for Christmas...;
The children did a lovely little sketch, the 12 days of Christmas with a biblical theme
"On the first day of Christmas the angel said to Mary, things are not what they seem" Can't remember all the words; but it was fun to watch with the usual nearly tripping over, not remembering the words..It was great & the kids were soooooo cute.

Sunday morning the message was about Jesus being the light of the world..In the evening we had our International church carol service, the message being about the state of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus birth, the wonder of the shepherds & despite the mess of the world, how the coming of the Saviour changed their hearts & how despite the sin & mess of the world today (& our hearts too) how the coming of the Saviour can change our lives!!

" Still through the cloven skies they come,
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O'er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lovely plains
They bend on hovering wing,
And ever o'er its Babel sounds
The blessèd angels sing.

"Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long:
Beneath the angels' strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not,
The love-song that they bring
O hush the noise ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing"
