I've had this thingy in my cupboard for years, it is I believe, called a 'crisper'..Apparently you can cook rice in it, but I rediscovered that it really does crisp up your lettuce!
It's always a problem to me, how to keep your lettuce from going floppy & soggy..
So when I found this, I thought, why not, give it a go..D'you know it really works!! I put a floppy lettuce in it, with a drop of water in the bottom, and low and behold, it is now nice and crispy! I have to say I'm dead impressed!!!

Think my mother-in-law has the same thing.... it keeps cooked rice very well for about 30 mins.
