We met in the morning here, there were the same people, this time including Liz and the children. Alan was preaching in Blaye so Ben preached!
The first time I've heard him.. He was so enthusiastic it was great, it made me feel enthusiastic too!
He spoke from Ephesians 1 v 2
'Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ'
What a greeting eh? Full of wonderful stuff!
.Availability of Grace
.Possibility of peace
.Dependability of the author
Grace being such a small word but full of meaning. Sometimes we talk about Grace so much, it has perhaps lost its freshness. It reminded me of the part in Les Misérables, where Jean val Jean, steals from the priest after bashing him on the head, and after the priest had taken him in , fed him and given him a bed for the night.(Jean val jean having been in prison for stealing and was recently freed)
He was captured by the police, taken back to the priest who then said, 'why didn't you take the candle sticks as well, you know I told you you could have them too' and told the police that he really had given Jean the silver etc.
Grace...
"Wonderful grace that gives what I don't deserve
pays me what Christ has earned
and lets me go free"
