The English Service

Today was the last one for the summer.What a chaotic morning though! Firstly, Alan was talking at the Youth group, so wouldn't be here, so we didn't have the car.

We needed to pick some friends up from Merignac, no problem, then we had to go to the tram stop and meet some one there..no problem. Some one else then rang to see if we could meet them too, but the tram had broken down so Ben (who had to do all the driving, and was also preaching, and who had had problems with his printer, and so had sent the order of service to us to print, hoping that we had enough paper..we did) then had to go and find this other person.

The service finally started 3/4 hr late..but hey, here that's OK, and of course the service can't start with out the preacher! Such fun....

There was fourteen of us, these pictures were taken last week and so some of the folk that were here today are not in this one, but I think the Griffins may have the latest on their blog.
Ben finished Ephesians 1. He spoke of the incomparably great power that is for those who believe.. us His church, giving us the ability to persevere even in the darkest hours,the fact that God knows all things, that nothing takes Him by surprise..

That there is no one beyond His power and might..

Power, the world often thinks of Governments, dictators, those who rule their countries with a rod of fear. Power means many different things to many people
God is in control of all this and nothing is hidden from Him..

After we had a great time of fellowship, and a BBQ. Some of our friends are leaving France, so we will miss them greatly, and wish them well, and pray for them...hope one day they will come back to Bordeaux and visit us..

Alan returned just in time for the nosh, so it all worked out well in the end..phew!
