yet another baby bird

For those of you who may be interested, we have yet another baby collared dove! We recently lost two, and unknown to us there was another in the nest!!
We took special precautions this time, if it fell out of the nest, it would have a soft landing!! (That is, if the cats keep away!!)
This evening I looked up into the nest, and the bird had gone! He had flown onto one of the other beams!!!
His mother arrived to feed him, so we looked out, and I think it may have been my sudden movement that caused him to fall on to the floor by our open door! However, he didn't fall on his head, and there are no cats near by! We picked him up quickly and put him onto the table, and then he flew off back on to the floor.


So as I write, he is still on the floor, and we are keeping a look out for moggies..there doesn't seem to be a mother or father in sight, but perhaps they are hiding..

We really want this one to be a success! Call us daft if you like, but we have been praying for this one to survive!
