the passing of patch the rat

Christmas Day started off sadly for Catrin and me, and in fact all of us...Patch the rat died in his cage over night!

It was a bit of a surprise, and unexpected..still he was a lovely rat, very gentle..and had a good life.

We have had a super Christmas though..It's great to remember the gift of God in the giving of his only Son Jesus Christ...It was good to be able to go to 2 different Christmas services last week and to hear different approaches on the same subject..

At Pessac baptist, the chap took Luke 2 and talked about the greatness of God, and how he chose two normal people, no one special, no one famous, two insignificant people, to have his son.. and how he was born in a smelly stable, and put in a cow trough for a bed,
how he choses insignificant people today, to be his witnesses here on earth..

At our church Sammy looked at the genialogy of Christ, and the interesting folks in that..one a prostitute, another a murderer, and so on..wouldn't look to good really would it!

But we have a great and merciful God, who isn't interested in 'great 'people, or fame..He chooses those He wants, simply because he does..because of His great love for us...

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not of your own,
it is the gift of God,not because of works, so that no one can boast.. Eph 2 v8/9

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end,
they are new every morning,
great is Thy faithfulness.. Lamentations 3 v22/23
