This afternoon I met with my friend to help her with her English, but she has a wide range of vocab and has been learning the language for years, and so only needs a little help now & then.
Today she had bought with her a piece from a book that we were to translate from English into French. You have to get the tenses right, and the sense of the sentence.

So, ''he bought a bun, and had to walk it home''...We spent some time thinking about the phrase 'he had to walk it home' and decided that it wasn't the bun he had to walk home on a leash!but that it actually meant he just had to walk home..he had to walk the route/kilometers home..

We read these things so quickly with out a thought, so it's really an interesting exercise to do!

Today Alan has been in Cwmbran seeing some old friends and going to the evening meeting..he has some good contacts for September..yes, he has to go back for another two weeks sometime then..and I had forgotten..however, he's very encouraged, and we both are so amazed at the kindness of God's people in their prayerful & financial support...

He will be in Shotton on Thursday, holding court at the church book shop! I'm sure he is having a brill time seeing folks again...

Tomorrow, Gwilym has only an hour of school, Catrin is in all day, and then it's the pont..4 day weekend! We hope to do one or two things, one being a picnic in the park with Layla & co. sometime on Friday..Saturday will probably see the French teacher who is helping Gwilym come, hope he doesn't charge double!! and Sunday there is a BBQ after the morning service, then the English service at Cenon in the evening..
