Last night we were invited, along with the other folks who sang at the Anglican Christmas service, to the British Consul & his Christmas party..It was in the centre of Bordeaux, so we walked in, then had to walk for what seemed miles to find the room that it was in.. but we found it, and were greeted by the fellow himself & his wife. They greeted us at the door and shook our hand as we went in..

Anyway, there was loads of people there. Some who visited English people in hospital and other voluteer workers..So there were lots of posh nibbles, & champaine..then we the choir had to go to the front, so that the lot of us could sing some carols, then we sang The Shepherds farewell..

I was watching the consul, who looked sooo bored poor chap!! We were singing "Angels from the Realms of glory" and he was standing with one hand on his hips, eyes wandering looking as if he would rather be somewhere else!

Still, it was a very different experience, & nice to see the folks from the choir again.

Gwilym has finished his stage at Pape Clement, and seems to have enjoyed the experience..maybe they will ask him to go back in the summer, cos of course he is fluent in English and French, sooo useful for them!!.
