Farewell Foucachons hallo Briennens

We had the morning service as usual, and then many of us ate together, which was super (Alan mentioned that he thought we should do it every week during the summer! some one else thought it a very good idea!)
Then some of us got to making Canapé.. little bits of toast with different coverings, ie: salmon paste & cucumber, cheese & chives for the after sevice apéro..it was great fun, and I even managed to cut out the name Foucachon in carots!!

The commissioning service began around 5pm.

It was a time of sadness, yet mixed with joy as we said good- bye to Sammy Carol Rachelle, Joseph & Christina..We will miss them all so much, but pray that God would be with them in all that they hope to do over this next year in USA, and in their hopes to come back to Paris...
I know that Gwilym & Catrin will miss them!
The service was packed! It was great to see so many folks, and the singing was great!

I like this piccy, cos it shows both the Foucachon's & Dik Hetty & their family in one shot..clever eh!
One thing that I felt was very well said, was that as Dik comes, we mustn't compare with what has gone on before..both Sammy & Dik have their own personalites, Sammy & Carol bought so much to the church, and so we don't look back & say "it used to be done like this" etc, but we look forward, & give our support & love to our new pastor who will bring some new things to the church...

For some it was very difficult..because as one person said, Sammy &Carol had been there for them from the time they were converted, and helped them through all the difficult times..but God has been gracious to us and promised in his word that he would never leave us or forsake us..He has also not left us without a Pastor as is so often the case in many churches!

We finally left (the Davey's and a few stragglers) around 9.15, soooooo tired! just wanted to sleeeep all morning..I was actually up around 10ish..but all of us have done absolutely nothing today! just lazed around..It's so hot too..We may go up to the Foucachon's once Alan gets back from collecting Sammy's computor from the shop..see if there is anything we can help with at the house....
